The Role
Reporting directly to our Technical Director, you’ll be managing the site quality function. You will be responsible for ensuring technical compliance in the factory and supporting NPD with the successful launches of new products. Developing internal procedures to meet the technical strategy for the growth of the business.
Working in a fast paced manufacturing environment you’ll need a keen eye for detail and possess multi tasking skills.
Responsible for maintaining supplier approval information, keeping up to date records of certification and risk assessments and ensuring suppliers comply with company policies.
Ensuring all customer specifications and pack copies are accurately submitted in line with the critical path deadlines.
This role involves monitoring compliance, auditing, maintaining documentation and working closely with the operations team to drive continuous improvement.
You will ensure products are manufactured to specification, maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. This includes overseeing the maintenance of the QMS system and ensuring all staff are adequately trained in relevant procedures.
You will support the technical department with site audits and visits .
Supporting and developing the current technical team and imparting your experience and knowledge to aid the department and business in progressing to the next level.
Key responsibilities
Develop and submit technical documentation relating to finished product specifications, labelling details, and upkeep of raw material and packaging specifications, along with supplier approval.
Gather and analyse technical data to fulfil customer and departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Oversee maintenance of customer portals and specification systems.
Ensure successful BRC compliance is maintained and assist in preparing Moo Free for own-label customer audits
Provide technical documentation and data as necessitated by customers and third-party requests.
Complete internal audits of the factory and quality management systems.
People management – you’ll lead, manage and develop a growing team.
Your skills and experience
Previous technical department experience within the food industry essential, Quality management preferred or ready for the next career step.
IT skills – good comprehension of IT systems and working knowledge of retail customer portals to complete product specification requirements
You will be reliable, knowledgeable, approachable and with good people skills and an eye for detail.
Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of food manufacturing and food safety.
Food Safety Level 3
HACCP qualified.
Trained internal auditor
Confident in leading audits and have a sound knowledge of food legislation standards.
Excellent leadership and management skills, a professional approach and attitude and the ability to be flexible to meet business needs.
