Bay area California compensation range: $97,600 - $146,400

The Business Systems Analyst implements and supports enterprise software applications and related systems in assigned functional areas. Working closely with the business and technical partners, this position performs business process analysis, functional requirements development, system setups, data analysis, integration mapping, and extensive testing to deliver high-quality solutions. This position also provides ongoing support to our business partners.
General
Manages requirements for projects with moderate complexity, or multiple components of a larger program.
Owns and leads projects of limited complexity.
Requirement scope managed at this level would cover entire processes with several stakeholders, multiple systems, or cover multiple processes.
Dependent upon other cross-functional organizations for support to complete projects and manage system integration points.
Possesses well-rounded functional and/or technical knowledge of a point-solution system or multiple components of larger multi-module systems and can assess multiple options for solution design.
Receives guidance and support from senior team members, including planning, coordination, communication, delivery, and measurement.
System Analysis and Management
Evaluates, configures, develops, and maintains software systems in their areas of responsibility, including functionality, data, reporting, and integrations, to meet business needs.
Monitors, supports, and troubleshoots ongoing processes, exceptions, and issues. Partners with internal and external resources to resolve issues.
Business Requirements
Solicits business requirements through interviews and workshops with cross-functional users and uses the discovery process to understand current business practices and alternatives.
Creates documents with testable functional requirements, use cases, process maps, business rules, security roles, and hardware/software/human resource requirements.
Produces solution designs (e.g. screens, reports, functionality) and design documentation, and gains customer approval for them.
Able to consider and document multiple solution options and elicit the best approach with the stakeholders.
Testing
Develops test scripts and supports test script development with stakeholders, testing plans, and schedules. Tracks and documents test results. Resolves issues for owned functionality. Plans, coordinates, and monitors test schedules to ensure timely execution.
Changes
Tracks and documents changes to assigned requirements. Ensures that changes are clarified and communicated to project leadership.
Leads and/or participates in project activities such as workshops, testing, RAID reviews, scrum activities, retrospectives. Develops stories and estimates effort.
Training and User Documentation
Creates training materials and teaches admins and end users how to use the software.
Project Management
Leads and/or participates in project activities such as workshops, testing, RAID reviews, scrum activities, retrospectives. Develops stories and estimates effort.
May lead assigned phases or tracks of one or more significant projects or initiatives with minimal managerial assistance. Manages essential PM artifacts as they apply to assigned projects.

Education & Experience
Two or Four-year degree in related field plus 2-5 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required qualifications and skills.
Systems Knowledge.
Working knowledge of typical systems, platforms, models, and interfaces used in assigned areas.
Business Process Knowledge
Can explain in detail the key business processes for assigned areas, and the IT systems that support them.
Can create detailed process maps and swim-lane diagrams.
SDLC and tools
Knowledge of basic SDLC tools and techniques used to convert business requirements into functional specifications.
Understands the phases of SDLC as requirements evolve through development, testing, and deployment.
Experience in creating and following detailed test scenarios and test scripts.
Data & SQL
Intermediate knowledge of tabular data models and relational databases of supported systems, and language knowledge which may include SQL, for example:
Able to analyze and filter data in Excel, including pivot tables.
Able to develop & troubleshoot reports in supported systems.
Able to write conditional queries in SQL against a relational database.
Systems and Languages
Strong knowledge of configurations, scripting or programming languages relevant to the systems supported.
Able to analyze and troubleshoot configuration general functional issues.
Able to configure most areas of an assigned system, including workflows, scripts or custom programs.
Project Management
Able to manage all phases of a significant project or initiative with some managerial assistance and involving a small variety of stakeholders.
Familiar with essential PM tools, artifacts, and methodologies as they apply to assigned projects.
