About the Role:
We are seeking an energetic, experienced warehouse professional to join our friendly team. The Warehouse Lead role will report to our Warehouse Supervisor and will assist in the management of our warehouse team and all related warehouse activities. This role is a fixed term contract for a period of 18 months.
In this position, you will support the Warehouse Supervisor in all daily warehouse functions, including stock receipting, storage and inventory management, customer dispatches, container export coordination, stock takes, and warehouse team management.
This role interacts with numerous internal departments and external service providers and plays a pivotal role in ensuring our business runs smoothly on a daily basis.
Key responsibilities will include:
Act as a 2IC to the Warehouse Supervisor, overseeing the warehouse team and all warehouse duties when the Warehouse Supervisor is away or requiring support.
Ensure all inwards goods receipts and outwards customer dispatches are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in the management of product storage to ensure product integrity, compliance, and space optimisation.
Undertake stock takes and maintain accurate stock control at all times.
Ensure the accurate preparation of raw materials for use in production.
Liaise with freight and storage providers to ensure effective processes and solid business partnerships.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments such as Sales, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Product Development.
Skills and experience to be successful in this role:
Previous experience working in a warehouse and/or a food production environment
Ability to lead a team and communicate with confidence and clarity
Experience with people management
Previous forklift experience a must, ideally including F & D endorsement and OSH forklift certificate
MPI Biosecurity Approved person certificate an advantage
Experience using ERP and inventory management systems
Clean, current NZ full Driver’s License
Team player with solutions-focused approach
High attention to detail with excellent time management skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
