Description
The Financial Controller will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Pay Rate/Range: $130,296 - $142,870

Management
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
- Oversee the accounting operations, control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
Internal and External Financial Reporting
- Responsible for general accounting, including journal entries and executing monthly closing/reporting, including accounts receivable (AR) and overseeing accounts payable (AP) and payroll processing.
- Evaluate and optimize the company’s current financial reporting and monthly closing processes.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and quarterly lender covenant compliance certificates.
- Ensure that best practices are consistently applied to all aspects of finance and accounting.
- Collaborate with the management team to implement, monitor, and report relevant operational and financial key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead the annual financial statement audit process. Lead bank and insurance audits.
- Develop, integrate, and manage internal cost models to facilitate improved alignment between operational and financial performance.
Relationships and Compliance
- Monitor, track, and report AR and AP balances. Manage relationships with counterparties at customers and vendors.
- Over time, take on responsibility for managing the company’s lender relationships.
- Work in-house and with third-party accounting firms to ensure accurate and timely organizational, tax, and regulatory compliance for each state in which the company conducts business.
- Become the primary point of contact for accounting-related matters, including direct engagements with client and customer trading partners.
- Proactively communicate with the company’s employees, leaders, auditors and lenders, maintaining positive, responsive, and constructive relationships.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a company with comparable revenue.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a senior leadership team.
