Join us as our new Team Leader in our Fermentation Department at Fuglebakken, Novonesis
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to join our Fermentation Department at site Fuglebakken in Copenhagen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering, biotechnology or similar, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving team success. As a Team Leader, you will oversee daily operations, manage team performance, and ensure the achievement of departmental goals.
The role in question is a 1 year role, as you will be filling a temporary vacancy, but the contract will be permanent as we will find a similar role for you by the end of the first year where you will be able to start having gained valuable knowledge of Novonesis production flow and processes.
Welcome to Fuglebakken, Copenhagen, part of Regional Enzyme Manufacturing, Europe
You will be responsible for the Fermentation department producing our enzyme products and you will be expected to be the main driver in systematic problem solving, optimization and day-to-day execution of the production – operators and technicians will look to you for guidance and your ability to gather information from experienced colleagues around you. You will have to manage shift workers as production runs 24/7. Your work, however, will be a day-time job.
You work as part of a team of dedicated and skilled engineers, technicians, operators and managers with high spirits and an informal office tone. We will support you and provide you with amble development opportunities and help you establish your network in the organization.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of 20 members
Managing day-to-day operations and workflows within the department
Setting clear team goals and monitoring progress
Facilitating effective communication and collaboration among team members
Conducting regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
Identifying training needs and opportunities for professional development
Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational objectives
Reporting on team performance to upper management
To succeed you must have:
Proven experience as a Team Leader or from a similar role
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to solve problems and make decisions effectively
Experience in biotechnology production
A master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field; or substantial experience as a leader in a relevant area
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
