Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Assistant will be based at the company’s office(s) in San Diego, CA. This position will be a part-time temporary position, up to 24 hours per week for 6 months, with the possibility of converting to full-time position in the future. This role will support GMP production, performing routine operations around media and supplement formulations from small to large (>100L) scale.
The successful candidate will join a high-performance and fast-paced team where everybody’s contribution is equally important. Candidates should be highly motivated, organized, proactive, and have excellent communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
Shift Schedule: 2nd shift hours (between 10am-7pm) after initial training period (9am-5pm)
Adheres to safety policies and procedures of the company
Perform aseptic activities while preparing media, supplements, and buffers in all GMP lab areas
Executes on production batch records and work orders according to SOPs and Work Instructions
Execution of COP and/or CIP of process equipment, including High temperature, pressurized stainless steel vessels
Assists with cell harvesting utilizing aseptic techniques
Maintains a clean and organized environment within the pilot plant facility.
Ensures production areas are cleared and staged for GMP activities
Accurately records detailed operational data on batch records, equipment logs and other forms of documentation following GDP
Assists in maintenance/cleaning of the equipment to support GMP production
Assists in stocking materials in GMP areas
Performs other operational duties as required and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates plus 1 year or Bachelors degree in the Biosciences, Food Science, Engineering, or equivalent
Experience working in a manufacturing or lab facility preferred
Detail Oriented
Strong demonstrated aseptic techniques preferred.
Adept at time management
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
Works effectively and communicates well in a team environment.
Basic understanding of laboratory testing equipment
Sense of humor
Nonessential Qualifications:
Local and federal safety regulations such as Cal/OSHA, California EPA, California health and safety code, Chemical safety training, etc.
Familiarity with HACCP regulations
Materials and Equipment Directly Used:
Office machinery including computers, printers, copiers, etc.
Microsoft Office Suite and other computer systems.
Operations cleaning of benchtop to large-scale equipment
Other equipment to collect sample data.

Ability to do basic math calculations, input data into a computer and analyze data is required.
Ability to work with and directly handle products containing Major US Allergens and sensitizing agents such as fish, soy, and shellfish.
