Welcome to Global Optimization within Product and Process Development
We are seeking a hands-on, energetic Research Associate to expand our downstream lab team. You will contribute to Novonesis’ build-up in scientific and technical knowledge within downstream processing. Our primary purpose is to have a focused effort on optimization of the downstream production processes to liberate capacity, reduce the variable cost, and improve product quality and robustness.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Analyzing samples using advanced spectroscopic and other techniques
Conducting experiments and collecting documents and records as part of our downstream lab team
Working with Optimization and Process Engineering to analyze products and make improvements
Assist in testing new instruments and lab techniques to advance our understanding of enzyme production
Assist with maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment
In this position, you will need to have:
BS/MS in a scientific discipline with 1-3 years laboratory experience
Experience running spectroscopic instruments and analyzing spectral data
Relevant knowledge of typical biochemical lab techniques (SDS-PAGE, UV-VIS, general protein assays)
High attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot experiments and lab equipment
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Experience working with study plans, recording and analyzing data, and presenting results
Willingness to learn new techniques and take on new challenges
Self-motivation and ability to effectively prioritize work

Expected salary range: $60,000 - $70,000
