Executive Summary:

We are seeking an experienced food and beverage industry professional to augment our Executive Team, build-out commercialization strategy, and manage all customer-facing aspects of the business. Alt-protein industry experience not required or preferred.

Responsibilities:

Advise Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors on commercialization strategy;
Manage commercial face of the company (sales leadership, marketing oversight, customer relationship management, business development, etc.);
Collaborate with Chief Product Officer and Chief Scientific Officer to develop resilient supply chains, stringent quality control, and flexible operational structures;
Oversee all downstream (post-harvest) operational tasks, to include:

Warehousing, distribution, marketing, sales, and customer relations;
Build effective logistics as the Company grows from pilot to commercial scale;
Negotiate purchase agreements with B2B and B2C customers;
Build marketing team to create meaningful messaging and highlight customer value;

Scale all aspects of the above processes as the company builds to commercial production.

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

Education

No specific requirement. Food industry experience is of paramount importance. MBA, MSCM, and/or professional certifications (e.g., ASCM certifications) appreciated.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in food processing/food-related CPG
History of successful product commercialization initiatives to include nationwide retail and/or wholesale distribution
Located in (or willing to relocate to) Chicago, IL. Position is full-time, in-person. Hybrid work structure negotiable.

Preferred

Experience not only at large, established corporations but also at growth-stage companies or start-ups
Vice President-level corporate management background
Initial Public Offering (IPO) and/or corporate acquisitions exit experience
Exposure to regulatory compliance and governmental affairs

Compensation

Salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, qualifications, and other factors permitted by law. In addition, Clever Carnivore offers certain benefits to eligible employees, including paid time off, medical insurance, and dental insurance.
