Job Description
As Seafood Program Manager, you will reach out to and build relationships with seafood producers from around the world to educate them on new technologies and production methods that improve animal welfare and sustainability. You will help them understand the benefits of these improved approaches, connect them with relevant solution providers, and provide industry updates on the increasing market demand for such improvements.
In parallel, you will reach out to and build relationships with key food companies (restaurant chains, caterers, retailers, hospitality groups, and packaged good companies) to encourage them to and help them to improve animal welfare and sustainability standards in their seafood supply chain. You will provide industry updates, connect these companies with potential suppliers, and provide other resources to help them understand and make progress on the issue.
In order to build these engagements you'll send emails and LinkedIn messages, make phone calls, join industry groups and conferences, and conduct meetings (typically virtual video calls) with companies.
You’ll work from home and hours are highly flexible. You’ll have wonderful colleagues in the US, Europe and Asia who will work with and support you, and you’ll stay in close touch with them through calls, email and messages.
Through this work you will have hands-on experience working with leading food producers and food companies on animal welfare and sustainability, with room for advancement to managerial or other positions.
