Requirements
4-6 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance with 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
Associate Degree in a science related field (preferred).
Job Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance/Control Supervisor is responsible for the organization and daily review of Quality documentation to ensure we meet local, state, and federal requirements. Job responsibilities include, and are not limited to: Enforce company policies, procedures, Safety Rules, GMP best practices and support new management initiatives to foster a rewarding and safe company culture. Review all Quality records daily and conduct food safety audits (must spend a minimum of 80% of the day in the work area). Oversee operations and maintain QA systems in all processing areas to ensure the highest possible standards in raw ingredients and finished products. Monitors Pre-Requisite Program/Procedures documented, reviewed specifications (i.e., Equipment Calibrations, Recall/Traceability, Glass/Brittle Plastics, Validation/Verification equipment release, etc.) Collaborate with other departmental management teams to ensure accuracy and consistency by using data driven decision making. Document root cause investigations and provide recommendations to proactively resolve quality issues. Interview, hire, train, and successfully onboard new hires. Perform Quarterly/Semi-Annual/Annual Training/Refresher Training. Effectively schedule, delegate tasks, and manage the performance of direct reports. Identify employee training needs and follow through to accomplish the desired results. Ensure accurate reporting of hours worked by direct reports in compliance with CA Wage & Hour Laws. Provide recommendations, drafts and/or outlines for disciplinary action and any other non-exempt staff documentation and completes annual performance reviews by deadline. Act as back-up to the Manager, Quality Assurance in case of absence.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP, and FSMA preferred
Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and ERP-based systems
SOP or technical writing
Effective organizational skills
Good interpersonal and people management skills
Experience in food manufacturing
Must be able to frequently lift and handle up to 45 pounds
Able to perform work at all levels of reach from standing to stooping positions for entire shift
Involves constant movement around the facilities, occasionally in a hot/wet/humid environment (80-90°F) or cold environment (30-40°F)
The noise level in this work environment is constantly above 84 dB and requires earplugs to be worn
