Unilever Foods business is focused on 3 attractive global verticals condiments, cooking aids and mini-meals and Unilever Food Solutions. US & Canada have been defined as a “must win” cell for all the verticals in Foods BG strategy.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist, Regulatory Affairs Foods US to join our Foods RA team in North America, a dedicated BU part of BG-led markets organization. This role is crucial to provide regulatory input in innovation projects, ensure that our products comply with all relevant local regulations and standards, and support the Foods RA team in the BU regulatory advocacy agenda.
JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Scientist for Foods Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for managing regulatory compliance and innovation partnering for some of our foods products in the US. This includes ensuring that all products meet country regulatory requirements, supporting product development and innovation, and providing regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain products regulatory compliance with all relevant food regulations and standards in the US, including in packaging, recipe and ingredients, labelling, technical claims. Liaising with third parties supporting compliance agenda if relevant.
Provides regulatory input and guidance throughout the innovation process to R&D by completing regulatory assessment and formulation review through digital tools for all major projects.
If relevant prepare and submit regulatory documentation to Authorities.
Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and trends and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders.
Provide support to RA lead if relevant in liaising with regulatory authorities and industry associations to stay updated on regulatory developments, as well as on issue management.
Provide training and support to internal teams on regulatory requirements and best practices.
Collaborate with NPD (R&D), Legal, External Affairs, and other key functions to define consistent, aligned views and positions.

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you can work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Strong knowledge of food regulations and standards in the US.
Experience in regulatory affairs, preferably in the food industry.
Experience in regulatory interpretation.
