The Quality Leader in the Process Excellence & Quality team of the FHN division is responsible for implementing proactive quality assurance strategies to achieve world-class quality. This role demands strong leadership, analytical skills, and problem-solving expertise to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce the cost of poor quality.
Work You’ll Do
- Lead the implementation of proactive quality assurance principles across division manufacturing and engineering teams, driving the APQP methodology into product design & production
- Identify and develop a deep understanding of COPQ (cost of poor quality) measures across the division, organizing a standard reporting structure that identifies improvement opportunities with organization leaders
- Lead the division in achieving financial COPQ objectives
- Facilitate RCCA (root cause corrective action) training and exercises that arm manufacturing teams with the tools to identify true causes of issues, that when resolved eliminates the issue
- Support NPI (new product introduction) initiatives, serving as the quality expert to promote APQP principles
- Successful experience leading quality in a matrix organization, specifically with remote teams across the division
- Demonstrated ability to understand engineering drawings, tolerances, & critical characteristics, possessing a confident mechanical & electrical aptitude
- Establish and maintain in-process control plans, inspections standards, and tracking for daily quality control
- Ability to develop DOE’s (design of experiments) and possess the statistical analysis acumen to derive the best course of action
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure suppliers are able to meet internal & customer quality expectations
- Collaborate with each manufacturing site to ensure alignment on standard quality tools and processes
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to manufacturing & engineering teams on proactive quality assurance methodologies
- Identify quality assurance skill gaps and develop a plan for education and training in pursuit of developing a quality culture across the organization
- Lead a team of quality practitioners to facilitate education, training, & execution of APQP principles
- Drive innovative and technological improvements across quality processes & systems, monitoring trends & best practices to recommend new innovative solutions
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
- Certified in Six Sigma and /or Quality Management by an industry recognized organization such as ASQ (American Society for Quality)
- 10+ years of experience working to improve product quality, with 5+ years in a quality leadership role
- Proven record of leading successful COPQ reduction initiatives, resulting in measurable improvements to the P&L

- Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change and foster a culture of world class quality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences
