About The Position
Reporting to financial controller of the central entity of Flora Food Group, you will be responsible for the 20 VAT registrations of this entity throughout the whole of Europe and North America and the other Dutch group entities. You will do this in close cooperation with our indirect tax team and our supporting (external) partners.
Working with the other team members, our support teams and the other functions in the business, you will take ownership for the monthly accounting, payment, clearing and control. Next to that you will be driving process improvements, ensuring that the right masterdata is setup, and together with our IT support teams ensuring that the latest requirements on E-invoicing (like eg SAFT, SII) are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities Include
Responsible for timely review and approval of VAT declarations, Intrastat reporting, EC sales listing (Based on the automated output from our ERP system)
Responsible for timely payment, proper accounting and timely clearing of all VAT related entries (with support from our shared service team)
Be the first point of contact of all VAT related queries:
Ensuring support for VAT audits with tax authorities for our Dutch entities
Discuss and move complicated VAT questions forward with internal/external Tax advisors
Detect errors, take action to land it with the right teams/update the masterdata/underlying process.
Further mature/align our VAT/Intrastat process
Responsible to for fill the additional requirements that we have in countries like Poland, Portugal, Spain and Hungary with having E-invoicing like requirements. At the same time work with our indirect tax team (based in NL) and our internal and external IT partners to ensure the right IT solutions are in place to accommodate the upcoming e-invoicing requirements throughout the whole of Europe.
Be the first point of contact for our VAT balances for internal and external stakeholders
Support maintaining the Trade Route Master for our Supply Chain setup
Environmental tax support, more and more the link between “Eco” tax reporting and traditional indirect taxes are made, you will be supporting/driving this connection.
What Does It Take to Be Successful?
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for controlling, alongside a proven ability to work in an international environment. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or controlling and has at least two years of experience in an international setting, with a strong affinity for indirect tax controlling and accounting. Previous experience working with a Shared Service Center is required, as well as proficiency in Excel and SAP. Strong analytical skills, natural curiosity, and adaptability to changing requirements are essential. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including report writing, and demonstrate a strong work ethic, resilience under pressure, and the ability to meet multiple stretching deadlines. Being a good team player and a drive to make things work will be key to success in this role.
