Our Global Livestock Research Department at Novonesis is looking for a committed and skilled Senior Scientist with a passion for exploring innovative biological solutions for swine.
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate would be curious, driven, and possess exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Familiarity with contract research, university collaboration, and customer interactions are also essential.
Welcome to Animal Biosolutions Applied Research
We are dedicated to supporting the development of biological solutions that enhance health and sustainability in production animal farming. Our team consists of 11 experienced scientists and research associates based in Lyngby (Denmark) and United States. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving application research activities for swine, working closely with both colleagues, contract research organizations, and universities.
Serving as our swine specialist you will provide deep knowledge of nutrition, probiotics, physiology and swine production. Your role will also include designing and running swine trials for new product development and exploring mode of action. You will be a pivotal scientific contributor within the swine segment, work closely with our technical product managers and support key customer projects. We emphasize close collaboration across functions, disciplines, and time zones, and provide numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Being our swine specialist with a strong background within swine nutrition, physiology, probiotics and health combined with an understanding of swine production
Facilitating and supporting the development of new biological solutions for production animals in cross functional teams
Driving the design, protocol, analysis, and reporting of animal research trials in collaboration with external research organizations and universities
Facilitating and establishing collaboration with key opinion leaders
Conducting statistical analysis and visualization of research data
Communicating scientific knowledge and results in a clear and concise manner internally, externally, in scientific papers, and to key customers
Supporting our existing portfolio with scientific knowledge combined with key customer interactions
Keeping up to date on swine industry trends and scientific literature within the field
To succeed you must have:
A PhD within swine nutritional physiology with over 5 years work experience within the field
Demonstrated expertise and an established scientific record within the fields of nutrition, production, probiotics and swine health.
Proficiency with experimental set-ups and animal research trials
Expertise in collecting, processing, and analyzing experimental data, as well as presenting findings using tools such as R, SAS JMP, PowerBI, Benchling, and Excel.
Experience with contract research and university collaborations, and a strong network within the field
Familiarity with probiotics and enzymatic solutions for swine will be an advantage
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
An open-mindset and be a team player with a desire to work in cross functional teams
