Our Global Livestock Research Department at Novonesis is looking for a committed and skilled Biostatisticianwith a passion for data in a research setting. Naturally you will also need a strong personal drive, a curiosity for data analytics and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Welcome to Animal Biosolutions Applied Research
We are dedicated to supporting the development of biological solutions that enhance health and sustainability in production animal farming. Our team consists of 11 experienced scientists and research associates based in Lyngby (Denmark) and United States.
As part of our team, you will play a crucial role designing statistically robust animal research trials, collating trial data, performing statistical analyses, and communicating results to a variety of stakeholders. Furthermore, your role will also include supporting and driving digitalization projects within the team. We emphasize close collaboration across functions, disciplines, and time zones, and provide numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Designing experiments with production animals together with our animal scientists.
Capturing, connecting, and analyzing complex data sets.
Generating high-level data visualizations.
Providing valuable insights and conclusions based on robust statistical analyses.
Driving initiatives to improve data collation, database management and digitalization.
Providing an appropriate level of technical guidance to colleagues.
Communicating complex data and results to both expert and non-expert audiences.
To succeed you must have:
A Masters or Ph.D. degree within animal science, biology, data science or similar, with an emphasis on data analytics and data management.
Three years+ of experience with the statistical software and programming language R. Familiarity with libraries for statistics, data exploration, visualization and dashboarding is key.
Experience with SAS JMP and Python is preferred.
Expertise in the use of parametric statistical methods for the analysis of continuous, multivariate, count, proportional and ordinal data.
Knowledge of design of experiment methodology.
Solid experience with data collation, visualization and analysis of production animal data.
Furthermore, you have:
A passion for exploratory data analyses, and a keen eye for details.
The ability to participate in and lead several projects simultaneously.
Familiarity building structured databases and apps.
Experience with advanced modeling approaches like machine learning or Bayesian statistics is desired.
Outstanding networking and communication skills, and to be able to work both virtually and in person with cross functional teams across the globe.
