The HPC business seeks an experienced professional to lead and manage the certification and sustainability strategies for the HPC business, ensuring alignment with IFF corporate and H&B division sustainability goals.
Responsibilities:
Strategy Development & Implementation
- Develop and execute sustainability strategy for relevant certifications for current and new technologies across the HPC business.
- Collaborate and coordinate with internal teams including regulatory, LCA, sustainability, supply chain, product management, marketing, and sales.
- Spearhead sustainability activities across the business as they relate to product-directed actions, including value propositions and messaging for product certifications and assessments.
- Analyse the current landscape and advise the HPC leadership on industry certifications and sustainability assessments for biotech, including new technologies
- Attain certifications for both short and long-term product portfolios by developing a management of change process, creating project plans with milestones and timing, and streamlining supporting materials based on customer certification needs.
- Work within H&B Sustainability team to finalize best practices and processes for completing and maintaining records of customer ESG requests.
External Stakeholder Management
- Lead the management of external sustainability consultants
- Collect customer feedback and collaborate with customers on sustainability initiatives.
- Participate in industry organizations that drive sustainability initiatives forward and create industry alignment.
Product Development and Supply Chain:
- Implement sustainability considerations in product development to drive the HPC portfolio towards more sustainable products.
- Look at opportunities in the supply chain for raw material improvements considering sustainability, hazards, and upcoming regulations.
- Develop sustainability training and literacy within the HPC organization.
Sustainability communication:
- Collaborate with segment leaders to develop sustainability content, including value propositions.
- Ensure all sustainability marketing claims are substantiated with data and evidence, adhering to green claims guidelines and regulations.
- Support sustainability customer requests and portals in collaboration with technical information team and SMEs
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Master’s or higher degree, preferred in Environmental Science, Sustainability or related field
- Professional Experience:
- Prefer 10 or more years of relevant industry or functional experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sustainability-related role, preferably within the HPC industry.
- Professional experience in personal care and home care will be considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of sustainability concepts and applications, including Life cycle assessment, product carbon footprint & environmental assessment of products and technologies.
- Proficient in LCA guidelines, including ISO 14040, ISO 14044, and ISO 14067
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement certification frameworks.
- Excellent project management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in innovation project initiation, success criteria definition, and value proposition development preferred.
- Experience in international roles and/or multicultural environments preferred.
