We have a strong team of scientists with deep knowledge of mammalian and microalgae cell cultivation. Now, we’re looking for a Junior Scientist – Microalgae to support our R&D efforts with hands-on algae cultivation, harvesting, and scale-up work.
What we need from you 💻
You’re a young scientist with experience in microalgae cultivation who’s excited to grow into a key role in an innovative startup. You’ll help us run and scale algal systems, optimize conditions, and support experimental data collection and process development.
What you’ll do:
- Work with microalgae strains in various culture systems (batch, semi-continuous, continuous)
- Operate photobioreactors (open and closed systems)
- Assist in scaling up cultivation from lab to pilot/industrial scale
- Prepare and optimize media: nutrients, CO₂ supply, pH, and light conditions
- Apply sterile techniques and help monitor contamination and microbial control
- Support biomass harvesting and processing: centrifugation, filtration, drying
- Document procedures and maintain lab protocols
Who we’re looking for:
- MSc or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Experience with microalgae in a lab or industrial setting
- Knowledge of cultivation techniques and bioreactor systems
- Understanding of media formulation and environmental control
- Hands-on approach, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail
